About Us

My name is Kenneth William Harouff, I am the Son of a copier technician and entrepreneur and the owner of Shokked.  My Father worked as a technician for the Xerox Corporation for 19 years before opening his own business in the early 1980’s. I started in the warehouse when I was 14 yrs. old. By the age of 16, I was on the road as a technician. This is where I learned a lot about electromechanical devices and the effect power quality had on the operation and longevity of equipment. I then became the Service Manager and we became one of the first copier dealers in the country to install surge protection on every install. I proved a 30% drop in service calls in the first 90 days. The overall operating costs over the first year was also less, even with the cost of the surge protection device. This was done in the late 1980’s with units designed specifically for the copier industry.

After that I worked for a company that provided GREEN solutions. Primarily air quality and power quality solutions. For several years I walked various commercial and industrial facilities helping them with power quality issues. They were CNC shops, plastic injection molding, food processing, automotive parts, wood working, electronics manufacturing, welding, grocery stores, department stores, hospitals, smelting plants, etc. Everything from the corner gas station to large facilities like Toyota and Kellogg’s. This is where I learned that there is a lot of misinformation as it pertains to power quality.

This company I worked for also sold a residential solution for power quality. I spent years selling those to electrical contractors to sell to their customers. They in turn sold to their customers and some of them would mis-represent our product, I will tell you the truth about our product and let you decide for yourself if it is something you would like to help protect your home and electronics.

I am currently 53 years old, a husband, father of 6 (we are a blended family) and committed to honesty for anyone looking for answers in this industry. Even though I am selling something, my roots are as a technician which insist I tell you everything, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
